Danbury, CT
Danbury is ranked the 4th most diverse small city in the United States. It is packed with shopping, restaurants, an active downtown, many annual cultural events, yet it is filled with natural park spaces and home to the shores of Candlewood Lake. Many newcomers are drawn to its convenient New York, Stamford, or Norwalk area commute. It is home to Western Connecticut State University’s two downtown campuses.
Danbury is easily accessed by car from Interstate 84, Danbury has a Metro North train station that runs to NYC on the New Haven line, and area bus transportation is provided by CT HART.
Danbury is home to several parks and recreational facilities that give way to a multitude of possibilities. The city has 1644 acres of open space. There are many opportunities to get outside in this city – a public golf course, private country club, hiking trails, two dog parks, Candlewood Lake, sports fields, parks, playgrounds, and three splash pads. Richter Park Gold Course is an 18-hole course with a beautiful, scenic setting, and 14 of 18 holes are of challenge with water coming into play. Enjoy the pub for drinks and fine dining at Café on The Green. The Ridgewood Country Club is private, offering an 18 hole golf course, tennis, swimming, dining and socializing.
Residents have access to Candlewood Lake at Candlewood Town Park. The park includes playgrounds, picnic tables, boat docks, benches and a concession stand, in addition to a 600-foot swimming beach.

Danbury is home to two marinas- Pocono Point Marina and Nina Marina.
